In the September of 2012, Jon Jones clashed with Vitor Belfort in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. That night, at UFC 152, could easily have gone in a different direction, however, when it came to the outcome of the fight. This is bordering on a decade ago now and it was Jones who eventually prevailed. He used a keylock to submit Belfort, defending and retaining his UFC light heavyweight championship once again in the process. This was also voted as the submission of the night. As previously mentioned, though, the fight was close to going the complete other way.Belfort pulled off an armbar submission on Jones, but the man nicknamed Bones, whose residence is Albuquerque, New Mexico, famous for Breaking Bad, wasn’t having any of it.Watch the clip for yourself down below as the Twitter user who posted it labels it 'top tier savagery.' We aren't disagreeing either.

Yes you could argue that the armbar wasn't in fully, but like the commentators said, he could've easily walked away with a broken arm due to refusing to submit.

Jones last fought in the UFC in February, 2020 when he beat Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision, only for him to vacate the light heavyweight championship later that year. This occurred due to ongoing disputes with Dana White, something which is still seemingly ongoing.

It was also due to Jones having aspirations of competing in the heavyweight division, something he is still currently training for.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Belfort ended his career a couple of years earlier. He lost three of his last five bouts that were held in Manchester and his home country. Only one of these were victories with the final one being a non-contest, he originally lost but this was overturned following Kelvin Gastelum testing positive for a marijuana metabolite.

Back to the fight at hands, though, and it speaks to Jones’ character and heart both inside and outside of the Octagon.

He is an iconic name in and around the UFC and will be for a while to come. This clip is one of many that says a lot about the 34-year-old.
