In the video game industry, almost little is definite, but one thing that fans can typically count on is that a new NBA 2K instalment will be released each year, and NBA 2K23 is next.

There have now been 23 mainline entries in the series, and it appears that 2K has begun preparing for the release of NBA 2K23 on Friday, 9th September 2022. The company also disclosed that none other than Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan will serve as the cover athlete for both "2K23" special editions.

There are special editions for several games. They frequently come with a variety of DLC that is not part of the standard offering and would typically have to be bought individually.

Vice President of Global Marketing Strategy Alfie Brody said: "After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for 'NBA 2K23' we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition.

Additionally, we're thrilled to introduce a brand new premium edition of the game with the 'NBA 2K23' Championship Edition, as no other player embodies the word 'champion' like Jordan."

NBA 2K23 Champions Edition: What you get for your money

NBA 2k23 Champions Edition

This will be the fourth time Jordan has graced a cover for the franchise; he also appeared on NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12, and the NBA 2K16 Special Edition.

The Jordan Challenge is a special mode that was included in NBA 2K11, allowing players to recreate ten of Jordan's most famous moments. Both the Michael Jordan Edition and the Championship Edition of NBA 2K23 will feature a return of this mode, according to 2K.

The Jordan Challenge, in addition to the classic 10 games also include several additional games. The 10 original Challenges from NBA 2K11 have all been rebuilt from the ground up, according to 2K's statement, and they will return this year along with five new famous Jordan moments for a whole new generation of players to enjoy.

NBA 2K23 will shortly be released, and those who choose the pricey $149.99 / £125,83 Championship Edition will receive a good reward. The bundle includes a year's worth of NBA League Pass access, among other things.

Given that League Pass costs $15 a month, it's a good deal if you play NBA 2K every year and are an obsessive NBA viewer. The Michael Jordan-themed go-kart is only included in the Championship Edition, which will only be available in a limited quantity. It also includes all the other extras.

What is included in the NBA 2K23 Champions Edition?

NBA 2k23 Champions Edition

For serious NBA fans, the Championship Edition of 2K23 is the best choice. It will be a limited-edition release that includes the Jordan Challenge, according to the statement from 2K. Those who purchase it will also receive a membership to NBA League Pass, which will allow them to watch live basketball.

You’ll get a 12-month NBA League Pass membership that grants access to the league's official post-game streaming service for the entire calendar year. According to the NBA website, users will not be able to view ESPN, ABC, TNT, or NBA TV games live, but they will still have access to live radio broadcasts and be able to see archives of these games three hours after the broadcast ends.

League Pass doesn't appear to be something the NBA often sells on its own. This edition may offer fans a rare chance to access the streaming service without having to pay for the complete bundle since the service is only available on the organization's website as part of a bundle with NBA TV for $14.99 a month.

And that concludes the list of what you get when you purchase the Champions Edition.
