Manchester United survived an early scare as they defeated Melbourne Victory in their pre-season clash on Friday.

The Red Devils went into the match on a high having smashed Liverpool 4-0 earlier this week.

But they fell behind within five minutes of their match against Melbourne Victory at Melbourne Cricket ground.

The A League side produced a lovely team move as they cut United open.

Ben Folami raced away from United's defence down the right hand-side and he squared the ball for Chris Ikonomidis to sweep the ball past Tom Heaton.

But United came roaring back and quickfire goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial gave them a 2-1 lead going into the break.

United went on to win 4-1 thanks to second half goals from Marcus Rashford and Edmond Lupancu (own-goal),

Erik ten Hag handed 19-year-old Zidane Iqbal another opportunity to shine.

The Iraqi midfielder, who has already made two appearances for his country, was mightily impressive against Liverpool and he was rewarded with another 45 minutes against Melbourne.

And he turned heads during his time on the pitch. The midfielder's best moment came in the 57th minute.

Iqbal found himself being closed down by two players inside Melbourne Victory's half.

He showed great strength and balance to shrug off one opponent, before producing a delicious skill to bamboozle his two markers.

He then dinked an inviting cross into the box that Marcus Rashford was ever so close to getting on the end of. Watch the moment below...

The clip brings back memories of the great Zinedine Zidane, who produced that skill countless times during his legendary football career.

Iqbal's highlights from the match have been compiled by YouTuber user Zeha Comps and they are an impressive watch. View them below...

Iqbal has only made one competitive appearance for United, coming on in the 89th minute in United's Champions League clash against Young Boys in December 2021.

He's almost certainly going to appear more for the first-team over the 2022/23 season.

Iqbal will be hoping to be given another chance to impress when United take on Crystal Palace in their next pre-season game on Tuesday.
