English signed off their Euro 2022 group stage campaign with another dominant display, this time over their UK rivals Northern Ireland.

The Lionesses had already qualified for the quarter-finals thanks to a record-breaking victory over Norway earlier in the week, but chose not to rest players and named the same starting XI as on Monday.

Head-coach was Sarina Wiegman was absent, having tested positive for Covid-19. Yet, assistant Arjan Veurink had little to think about as England cruised to another huge win in front of an elated crowd at St Marys.

There were plenty of standout performers for England on the night and, in truth, the whole team was worthy of recognition.

Nonetheless, we’ve narrowed it down to five players who impressed us the most. See if you agree:

Beth Mead

It seemed almost inevitable that Mead would score at some point and so she did –– steering home a deflected shot to notch her fifth goal of this tournament already.

The Arsenal forward is now England’s joint top scorer ever at a single European Championships tournament, drawing level with Jodie Taylor and Alan Shearer.

Leah Williamson

As ever, the England captain failed to put a foot wrong and the decision to move the Arsenal star back to centre-back appears to be paying dividends.

The Lionesses are still unbeaten since Williamson took over. Long may that continue.

Lucy Bronze

It was another effortless display from the England right-back, who continued to link up superbly with Mead down the right.

Bronze was replaced by Jess Carter late on –– likely to keep her fresh for the Lionesses' all-important quarter-final.

Alessia Russo

Russo may have considered herself a touch unlucky not to have started tonight. However, the Man United striker has certainly given Wiegman a lot to think about for the quarters.

The 23-year-old came on at half-time for Ellen White and netted twice in 10 minutes, taking her tally for the competition to three.

Fran Kirby

Kirby got the Lionesses' account underway with a beautifully curled effort and fathomed numerous chances for the rest of the side.

The Chelsea forward joins Michael Owen in becoming the only players to score for England at four successive major tournaments.

What's next for England?

England have qualified for the quarter-finals as the winners of Group A and will play either Spain or Denmark next up.

The two teams meet tomorrow at the Brentford Community Stadium, with Denmark needing a win to go through.
