Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz III is a potentially massive bout for the UFC, if they’re able to get both fighters to sign on for it, and Diaz has now made a massive claim about the highly-anticipated trilogy contest.

Whilst both men are not competing at the level they have been prior in their combat sports careers, the box office attraction of McGregor returning to face a former foe would certainly intrigue fans and create a huge amount of revenue for the company.

It’s not yet been confirmed, but recent comments from Diaz have got fans talking as it appears to be closer to happening than originally expected!

Here is what Nate Diaz had to say with regards to a trilogy fight with ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor in the UFC at some point in 2022.

Speaking on The MMA Hour (via BJPenn.com), Diaz revealed that he is not ruling out a potential bout with the Irish megastar.

He said: “McGregor was too amateur to be fighting Floyd Mayweather, and Floyd Mayweather was like, ‘Oh, I know how to fight him, look what Nate did’ – that’s how you fight him.

“The blueprint is beat his a** hella easy, made him punch himself out, 10th round beat his a**. Didn’t I do that right before him? That’s exactly what I did.

“And then (Conor) went and got choked by Khabib. He didn’t learn how to not get choked. If he would have finished the trilogy with me, he would have learned how to not get choked. If he would have finished the trilogy with me, he would have learned how to not punch himself out and make it through the rounds with Mayweather.

“You bring yourself back to life and I’ll be back later because I’ve got s*** to do. What’s he going to do? Fight some people who got knocked on their ass against a guy who just got his leg ass-broken all over the place, and got knocked out the fight before.”

It was previously believed that Diaz nor McGregor were interested in a third fight in the UFC, so this is a big claim from the former Ultimate Fighter star!
