Manchester United signing Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic this summer is "possible", says journalist Jacque Talbot.

The 25-year-old has recently been linked to the Red Devils, and Talbot is not ruling out a move.

What is the latest news involving Kalajdzic?

According to Sky Germany, United are interested in Kalajdzic and there have been talks to sign him in a potential €25m (£21m) deal.

It is believed that Borussia Dortmund were also keen on the Austrian following Erling Haaland's departure to Manchester City, but they opted to purchase Sebastien Haller from Ajax instead.

Kalajdzic made just 15 appearances in the Bundesliga last season because of a shoulder injury, scoring six goals across those games.

However, the campaign prior, he managed to play 33 league matches and register 16 times, showing that he can find the back of the net.

What has Talbot said about Kalajdzic and United?

Talbot can see United signing Kalajdzic this summer, though he has concerns about the player's injury record.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "Kalajdzic, he's very injury prone, but he's a really good character in the dressing room. I think he managed 15 games last season. He'd come for about €25m, so that's quite a cheap option. I mean, that's possible. It is possible."

Should United sign Kalajdzic?

Following the exit of Edinson Cavani, United's squad could probably do with the addition of a new No.9, and Kalajdzic looks an ideal fit for the Premier League.

At 6 ft 7, the Austria international has the height and physicality to play in the English top flight. As per FBref, he has ranked in the 94th percentile for aerials won among forwards over the last year, which is hardly a surprise given how tall he is.

All in all, Kalajdzic could be a really good squad option to have. However, if Erik ten Hag is looking for a new first-choice striker, which he may have to do depending on what happens with Cristiano Ronaldo's future, then the Dutchman probably needs someone a little more prolific.

You would imagine that United fans would also want a more high-profile name to be leading their line this upcoming season. The only problem is there are not many on the market right now.

Fortunately for the Premier League outfit, though, it is looking increasingly likely that Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford after being snubbed by the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich, so they may end up just needing to sign a cover option like Kalajdzic.
