UFC and MMA legend Miesha Tate made her debut in the Flyweight division for the company in tonight’s UFC Fight Night, and fans have reacted to the bloody affair between ‘Cupcake’ and Lauren Murphy.

This was a big move for Tate, who was taking on the #3 ranked Murphy in a fight that could’ve established her straight away in the top 10 of the division.

Unfortunately for Tate, she was unable to deal with the strength and pressure from Murphy, and fans have been having their say on the abilities of the fighter and her ongoing legacy in the sport.

Tate would end up taking the loss via unanimous decision, and ‘Cupcake’ took a lot of damage to the face during the fight.

One fan would rip Tate for not having enough head movement, also saying that the drop in weight could’ve affected her: “No head movement she gets busted up nearly every fight, the drop in weight also might have affected her.”

Another fan was not happy that ‘Cupcake’ had her children in attendance for the fight, tweeting: Not happy seeing Miesha Tate fighting the way she was. Could clearly see she was worried about being bloody etc in front of her kids. Don’t bring your kids to fights if it’s going to be a distraction for yourself in the ring. Those kids are gonna have nightmares from that.

Some however would praise the former UFC champion, with one fan saying that she gives it all to the end: “Miesha Tate is tough as nails. She is taking major damage and bleeding like Ric Flair, but she always gives 100% until the end. #UFCLongIsland.”

It’s not currently known what Tate has planned going forward, but there is a chance that she decides to hang up the gloves following this fight.

Some had anticipated that she actually would do so following the loss, but the fighter would head to the back after the decision was rendered and did not speak on the microphone.
