Former UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will be making his return to the octagon for a massive bout at UFC 280.

Oliveira was stripped of his 155-pound championship ahead of his fight against Justin Gaethje back at UFC 274 in May 2022, and he will hope to regain his title at the event.

It was revealed during UFC Fight Night on ABC 3 that Oliveira will be heading back into combat at the major PPV event, and the opponent is a highly-anticipated one.

It was confirmed on the UFC Fight Night on ABC 3 broadcast that Oliveira will be going toe-to-toe with Islam Makhachev to determine the next UFC Lightweight division champion.

There has been a lot of talk regarding the next contest for Oliveira, and this no doubt will please a lot of fans of the dynamic fighter.

Makhachev has been called out by a number of fighters over the past year, with Michael Chandler claiming that the UFC should book himself against the Dagestanian fighter for the title whilst Oliveira await a bout with Conor McGregor.

In the end, the company would decide to go with Oliveira vs Makhachev on Saturday, October 22nd from Abu Dhabi in an absolutely massive main event.
