Two FC Koln players wore bodycams for their pre-season friendly against AC Milan on Saturday afternoon.

The technology was created by MindFly and enables fans to watch any game from a player’s First-Person Point of View (FPV).

“We’re very excited to be featured in 1. FC Cologne’s upcoming match,” says Eran Tal, MindFly co-founder and CEO, per startuphub.

“Using MindFly in football brings the excitement of the pitch to the fans. Our lightweight AI vests are designed to keep the player’s performance and feel the same as wearing a GPS vest, and athletes forget they are wearing it after a few minutes.”

The game took place on Saturday, with AC Milan running out 2-1 victors.

The evergreen Olivier Giroud started for the Italian champions and scored two brilliant goals.

His first was just pure filth. Latching on to a brilliant flick by Ante Rebic, Giroud showed incredible composure to dink the goalkeeper before tapping the ball into an empty net.

A FC Koln defender was wearing the bodycam and the footage captured of Giroud's first goal was stunning. View it below...

We need that to become a more regular thing. It's fascinating to see how the pitch looks from a player's perspective.

Giroud's second, scored in the 36th minute, was also a beauty.

Picking the ball up on the edge of the box, Giroud cut inside and curled a beautiful effort into the top corner.

Giroud will be 36 years old in a few months but he continues to play at an incredibly high level.

He will be important for Milan in the 2022/23 season given Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the majority of it as he recovers from knee surgery.

Florian Deitz pulled one back in the 86th minute but the Bundesliga outfit couldn't find an equaliser.

Milan are next in action when they take on Hungarian side Zalaegerszegi TE on Saturday July 23.
