However, a new angle has emerged and it appears to show the Sevilla player throwing a punch first as Richarlison retaliates.

Whatever happened, it showed Richarlison already has that fighting spirit and passion to play for Spurs.

After making his Spurs debut in a friendly against a K-League XI - a friendly in which Tottenham won 6-3, manager Antonio Conte explained exactly why he signed the Brazilian.

“He’s a good character and has good qualities,” Spurs boss Conte said.

“We are working on the tactical aspect with him because he has to go into our idea and also the physical aspect because he has to be fit. He is a player who gives me important options. I’m very happy that we signed him.”

However, former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes Richarlison could potentially cause problems if he's left out the side.

“Not sure on Richarlison really," Redknapp admitted. "Not sure where he’s going to play, if he’s going to play. He looks to me if he doesn’t play he’s not the type of lad that’s going to be a happy bunny. If he’s not in the team I think he will be a problem.

“But if he is in the team, he will have to play up there with Son, and Kane in behind. Whether he plays three at the back, two in the midfield, I’m not sure yet.

“But if he’s not the starting line-up I think he could be a problem at Tottenham.”
