Wolves star Morgan Gibbs-White has been given reservations by Bruno Lage over his game-time ahead of the new season, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked away from Molineux, but Holland reckons there's every chance the youngster could even end up committing his future to his boyhood club by signing a new deal.

What's the latest news involving Gibbs-White?

The report states that it's still unclear whether Wolves actually want to sell Gibbs-White, but having just two years left on his contract could persuade them that this is the right time to cash in.

Nottingham Forest are also interested in Gibbs-White's services, but 90min reckon that Lage's team are hoping to get closer to the £30m mark if they do decide to let him leave.

But Holland reckons Lage has already informed the youngster that he's part of his plans and has also claimed that despite intense speculation surrounding his future, Gibbs-White wants to stay.

What did Holland say about Gibbs-White?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I've been told that Lage has already told him that he's going to be starting and feature next season. So, if that comes through and if that happens, he will sign a contract.

"He wants to stay at Wolves, and the only reason he would want to leave is to get first-team minutes."

Should Gibbs-White stay at Wolves?

Despite producing little of note in his Premier League career, with just one goal and one assist in 46 games, Gibbs-White's exploits at Bramall Lane mean he has every right to want regular minutes.

He managed 23 goal contributions for the Blades and has already underlined his confidence ahead of the new campaign by scoring in Wolves' pre-season game against Burnley recently.

Wolves' attacking areas are extremely competitive, but uncertainty over Adama Traore's future, with less than 12 months remaining on his deal, and a serious injury to Chiquinho could see a window of opportunity for Gibbs-White, who played in no fewer than six positions last season.

Therefore, if he's been given a vote of confidence by Lage, sticking around and assessing his own situation in January is probably a wise decision.
