Jose Mourinho added another major honour to his trophy cabinet in the form of the Europa Conference League last season.

'The Special One' has endured a turbulent few seasons following the demise of his spell at Manchester United and a forgettable tenure in charge of Tottenham, but has found his stride once again with Roma.

In what has been an equally difficult few years for Roma, the two parties came together ahead of 2021/22, and it's been a match made in heaven thus far, with Mourinho also securing Europa League football.

Sure, winning the inaugural Europa Conference League - UEFA's third tier European competition - is hardly anything major to write home about, especially considering how highly regarded Mourinho is.

But after a difficult few years, guiding a club as big as Roma to their first major European honour is absolutely a special achievement. And besides, a trophy is a trophy. They all very much count. You try telling a serial winner like Mourinho any different.

Mourinho's men saw off Feyenoord in a 1-0 victory back in May to secure the trophy, prompting rabid celebrations and an emotional Mourinho to become somewhat overwhelmed with the triumph.

'I Giallorossi' and their manager have all had time to come back down to earth since, though, and in their return to pre-season training, the Portuguese coach has returned with an ode to the Conference League win, among other accomplishments.

After some speculation online among fans of Roma and those keen on Italian football, Mourinho has confirmed that he's had a tattoo done, via his official Instagram.

He still hasn't released an image of the actual finished tattoo, likely because it is yet to heal fully. But what he has done is revealed the design in full, along with a fitting tribute to it in the caption. Take a look for yourself below.

In the caption, Mourinho has admitted it was the 'joy of the Roman people' that convinced him to get inked, before going into detail about the specifics of the design.

Quite obviously, the three UEFA trophies represent the fact he has won each one. The smaller, coloured emblems on each trophy then represent who he has won the trophy with.

Manchester United and Porto are represented on the Europa League at the left, Inter and Porto are represented in the middle on the Champions League, and his most recent triumph with Roma is represented on the right.

Getting a tattoo of his footballing achievements sounds so incredibly Mourinho of yesteryear. But in recent times, he has been able to show a more vulnerable side, highlighted by the emotions that followed Roma's Conference League win.

He isn't everyone's cup of tea in a world where you're either a Mourinho fan or a Pep Guardiola one, but regardless of which side of the fence you sit on, you have to admire how much the game means to Mourinho.

Also notice how the emblems are rather small and in tight space; perfect for adding more in the future if needed.

With Roma back in the Europa League from next season, perhaps he'll be lying on the table having his tattoo added to next summer. We'll have to wait and see.
