Wolves target Edin Dzeko would be a "class signing" at Molineux, says journalist Josh Holland.

The Midlands club are thought to be interested in the Inter Milan striker, and Holland thinks he would be a fantastic addition to their squad.

What is the latest news involving Dzeko?

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via GOAL), Wolves want to sign Dzeko this summer but face competition from Premier League rivals Everton.

Dzeko was in excellent form for Inter last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions for the Nerazzurri.

However, with Romelu Lukaku returning to the Italian giants and Lautaro Martinez already at the club, his place in Simone Inzaghi's starting XI is at risk.

With that in mind, it would not be a shock to see Dzeko seek pastures new, and it appears that Wolves and Everton could be two options for the 36-year-old.

What has Holland said about Dzeko and Wolves?

Holland believes Dzeko would be a quality addition at Molineux, though he has doubts about a potential move materialising.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "It would be a class signing, but a lot of the business Wolves do is more of a long-term idea, and would bringing Dzeko in for how much he's going to want wages wise, would it be worth it on a business side? I doubt it.

"Football side, maybe, but I can't see them spending that much money on someone like Dzeko when there are other positions that need improving."

Should Wolves sign Dzeko this summer?

As Holland mentioned, Dzeko's wages, at his age, could be a problem for Wolves. Currently, the Bosnian is thought to be on £153,000 a week.

However, he could be the answer to one of Wolves' biggest problems, a lack of goals. Last season, they scored 38 times in the Premier League, which was one of the worst records in the division.

To put that into perspective, only Burnley, Wolves and Norwich City scored fewer goals (via WhoScored), and they, of course, all went on to get relegated.

It shows just how badly Bruno Lage needs a new centre-forward in his squad, with Dzeko an ideal candidate. In his career, the former Manchester City and AS Roma striker has found the back of the net on 308 occasions.

He may only be a short-term solution, but if Lage is looking to bring a goalscorer to Molineux this summer, then he should look no further than Dzeko.
