Boxing stars Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have teased a fight with one another before the end of the year.

The lightweight division is perhaps one of the most intriguing in all of boxing, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to star power. From champions to contenders and beyond, a whole host of names are lining up to try and become the next big thing inside the squared circle.

Two men who fit into that category are Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis.

Between them, they’ve won 50 professional fights and have no defeats to their name, with both impressing in a big way in their most recent outings.

‘King’ Ryan was back in the ring this past weekend as he went head to head with Javier Fortuna in Los Angeles. After almost six rounds, Garcia managed to put the former champ away with a nice TKO success to secure the 19th finish of his pro career.

He’s made no secret of the fact that he wants to fight Davis in the past and immediately after the contest came to an end, he wanted the world to know that his rival was still on his mind.

"If he wants it, let's get it," Garcia said. "That's going to give me the respect I deserve."

“100% I felt way better [weighing 140 pounds], I’m not going back to 135 for nothing, but I want Tank next,” Garcia said during his post fight interview. “I’m never afraid, I have a spirit of competition. You’re going to see that when I fight Tank.”

In a short but simple response to Garcia’s performance, Davis had the following to say on social media.

“See y’all the end of the year..#TheONE”

The threat of Tank

Gervonta Davis isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it’s hard to ignore what he can do in a boxing ring. The 27-year-old currently holds the WBA (Regular) lightweight title and in his last fight, he settled the score with foe Rolando Romero in Brooklyn.

Romero was doing some nice work throughout the early stages of the contest but ultimately, it was ‘Tank’ who landed the final blow in the form of a devastating TKO that showed the masses exactly what he’s capable of.
