In the build-up to Eddie Hall fighting Hafthor Bjornsson, also known as Thor, the former took on a challenge.

This was dubbed “The Heaviest Boxing Match in History” and it took place earlier this year. Thor won via unanimous decision after winning five of the six rounds.

The focus here, though, is on Eddie Hall’s preparation for the bout and turning from a Strongman into a boxer.

Hall posts a lot of different videos on YouTube and the one in question is him attempting to do 100 sit ups a day for 30 days.

On first thoughts, this should be fairly easy for someone so into fitness. Wrong. He carries a lot of weight and so an exercise like this would be a struggle; the aim being to lose body weight.

At the beginning of it all, Hall weighs in at a whopping 385 pounds/175kg, which is just short of 28 stone by his estimations. This is what it takes to be nicknamed “The Beast” and to be “The World’s Strongest Man” at one point or another.

A lot of The Beast’s content is motivational and inspirational with the aim being to help others. He has spoken openly about his mental health struggles too so his channel is a safe place of sorts. Hall is documenting this journey and showing the results for all to see at the end.

“It’s really hard. I find myself getting to about 40/45 reps and then I really slow it down. I managed 65 today.” This is what he had to say on day five of the challenge.

“I’m gonna keep going, it feels a lot easier,” he continued.

Alongside the sit ups, he discusses the other workout routines he has going on with the camera. Also, he speaks about the progress and his diet too.

A key part of it all seems to be the use of a bench or weight rack for example, as something to keep your feet planted on the ground.

After day 30, he talks about how doing them all in one go isn’t the be-all and end-all. He does as many as he can in one sitting before then doing the rest later on that day.

The difference just from looking at his body is remarkable at the end of it all. His abs are much more prominent and it is clear he has lost a fair bit of weight! He reveals the outcome to be a loss of nine kilograms, ending up at 166kg.
