Cristiano Ronaldo is a footballer who is synonymous with the UEFA Champions League.Throughout the course of his incredible professional career, the 37-year-old superstar has made club football's biggest competition his own personal playground.Ronaldo has won the Champions League fives times and that doesn't even tell half the story of his magnificence on the European stage. No player has scored more goals (141) or contributed more assists (42) in the competition's rich history.Ronaldo just loves the Champions League and the fact he was unable to lift ol' Big Ears in a Juventus shirt will still hurt him to this very day.He joined the Italian outfit from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 for a €100 million fee and his main goal was to finally bring the trophy to Turin after so many near misses previously. But Champions League glory never came during Ronaldo's spell at Juventus and they actually failed to even make it to the semi-final stage in his three seasons wearing black and white.Cristiano Ronaldo during Juventus' match vs FC PortoTURIN, ITALY - MARCH 09: Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus interacts with Wojciech Szczesny of Juventus during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Juventus and FC Porto at Juventus Arena on March 09, 2021 in Turin, Italy. Here's the transcript...

Ronaldo: “We have to work harder. What the f***! We didn’t play at all! Nothing!”

Cuadrado: “Don’t worry”

Ronaldo: “We played s***, always!”

Cuadrado: “You must be an example for everyone”

Ronaldo: “I’m included too. We have to tell each other the truth, we played s***. This is a Champions League match, we need to have personality.”

Andrea Pirlo, who was manager at the time, then walked into the room and put an end to the war of words between Ronaldo and Cuadrado.

Pirlo: “That’s enough, let’s go. That’s enough, Cri. That’s enough, Juan.

“We have to be calm and patient. We will continue in this spirit, but without arguing, with the posture of someone who wants to win.”

Things got a little bit tasty.

Juventus did actually improve quite a bit in the second half, with two goals from Federico Chiesa either side of a red card for Mehdi Taremi taking the tie to extra-time.

But a shock goal from Sergio Oliveira in the 115th-minute left Pirlo's side needing two of their own to qualify and they could only muster the one through Adrien Rabiot.
