Darts is a staple of many households across the country.

The wild crowds serve as a reminder of the insane atmosphere at an event which includes bright clothes and thunderous walkout music. Oh, and plenty of booze usually as well.

Even if you don’t watch darts, you likely know the dramatic cry of 'ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY' as a player achieves the maximum score.

That’s exactly what happened in this match between Daryl Gurney and Gary Anderson.

They faced each other in the first round of the World Matchplay tournament and it was an epic encounter. Gurney has never previously won this competition while Anderson has achieved this feat once before in 2018.

Though, the former champion won’t be adding a second World Matchplay tournament win to his accolades as he crashed out of the competition in this match.

He lost 10-7 to Gurney, with one of the final blows being delivered in iconic fashion.

The Northern Irishman landed a treble 20, which is likely to peak the interest of everyone in attendance. He then did it again which brought a slightly louder murmur from the crowd as anticipation grew over whether he would achieve the infamous 180.

He then secured a third treble 20 and there was an eruption from the audience behind, but it wasn't just any normal final throw to achieve the 180, oh no, it was a no-look throw!

Here’s where the savagery happened, as, when the third dart left his hand, Gurney looked away. He swiftly turned his head as it flew and a scowl came across his face with pride radiating from him.

It was a fantastic display of control and confidence as he knew he had achieved the top score and added flair to show off along the way.

Of course, this has gone down well with fans, especially in online communities.

It was inevitable that edits would be made of a moment like this. Gurney himself even posted a clip of his awesome 180 score with the ‘Thug Life’ meme playing during his swagger.

It was a stunning moment which combined with comedy to create a win that won’t be forgotten.
