England Women take on Spain Women in the quarter-final of EURO 2022 - here's everything you need to know about the fixture.

The Lionesses continue their EURO 2022 campaign this Wednesday as they progress to the quarter-finals of the competition. Sarina Wiegman's side had the perfect group stage, winning three out of three fixtures, scoring a grand total of 14 goals and comfortably finishing at the top of their group.

Spain on the other hand surprisingly didn't have a perfect opening stage and only managed to scrape through thanks to a 1-0 win against Denmark in a pivotal fixture that decided who would advance alongside Germany. Dubbed as one of the favourites for the entire tournament at the beginning, Spain have been somewhat underwhelming thus far and will be looking to really kick-start their tournament now against an England side that's in simply stunning form.

So, with this - let's take a look at everything you need to know regarding the fixture between England Women and Spain Women in the EURO 2022 quarter-final.

The big question is actually based on the sidelines for the Lionesses. Manger Sarina Wiegman was recently struck with Covid-19 and missed the last group stage match, so fans will be hoping shes shaken the virus off so she can appear on the touchline during this massively important fixture.

In regards to players, Demi Stokes is hoping to shrug off a knee issue to return to the squad.

Spain's bad form may be put down to the fact they've been unable to call on some of their star names for this tournament. They were unable to call up Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas after she picked up a knee injury before the tournament began, while all-time leading scorer Jenni Hermoso and Salma Paralluelo have also missed the comp through injury.

In this critical quarter-final game in EURO 2022 - we think England will prevail.

The Lionesses have been simply unstoppable so far, and although Spain is a different sort of level to the teams they've faced so far, we think the momentum behind the squad will be enough to carry them through to the semi-finals.
