Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from UFC last year, but he will certainly go down as one of greatest fighters in the history of the sport.

He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last month after he ended his career with 29 wins and no losses, retiring with that sought after undefeated tag.

After being the lightweight division champion from April 2018 until March 2021, he is now the longest-reigning UFC lightweight champion in history.

Most people struggled to compete with Khabib, with only one fighter actually managing to take him down during a fight which was way back in 2013.

Abel Trujillo was the only fighter who performed a takedown on Khabib in all 29 of his fights. It occurred at UFC 160 where he still lost the fight after the Russian dominated the contest.

The clip of the fight where Trujillo got the takedown on Khabib has been shared on Reddit recently, with it providing fascinating viewing.

Both fighters got embroiled in a grappling session on the canvas, with both looking like they had the upper hand only to then be put on the back foot.

After that takedown, Khabib was not happy and made sure to set the record straight. In the next 15 minutes of combat, he performed 21 takedowns on Trujillo, a record number of times.

The fans were loving the clip in the comments on Reddit, with these just being a sample of what was said by different users: “Jeezus and look how he handled it. What a monster.”

“Khabib’s guard game is nasty.”

“In my head I was thinking, ‘man, I can’t think of too many times where he’s been on his back. I wonder how his Sambo would do here…’ Well this answered my question.”

“100% I wish we saw more of his guard game. We never got to see how truly far ahead he was in defensive grappling against his competition.”

“I recall reading from people he trained with that his defensive grappling was even better than his offence, which is a scary prospect. Also, kind of disappointing if we didn’t really get to see 50% of his skillset.”

“And after this, Khabib took down Trujillo 21 times in 15 minutes making a UFC all time record of most takedowns in a fight.”

Khabib’s ability clearly had the fans lauding him and reminiscing about just how good he was, he certainly provided us with a bagful of entertainment.
