Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett will both be back in action when the UFC returns to London for the second time this year later this week.

Following the hugely successful show at the O2 Arena in March that saw Manchester's very own Tom Aspinall defeat Alexander Volkov, fight fans once again have a real treat in store for them on Saturday night.

McCann, 32, who beat Brazilian Luana Carolina five months ago, faces Dana White's Contender Series veteran Hannah Goldy.

And Pimblett, 27, takes on another American in Jordan Leavitt, 30, who also earned a contract after competing on DWCS in 2020.

McCann and Pimblett, who are both practically inseparable, are both also products of Next Generation MMA in their home city of Liverpool.

The pair have competed in MMA together for over ten years - and are two of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster right now.

But before they were famous, they both made their names on the regional circuit under the Cage Warriors banner, winning the women's flyweight and men's featherweight championships respectively.

They even share the same manager, Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan, who coincidentally also owns Europe's leading MMA promotion.

In an exclusive video for Cage Warriors back in 2018, which was appropriately titled 'MMA fighters respond to online abuse before Cage Warriors 90', the Scousers cracked up at some of the hilarious and rude tweets trolls sent them on social media.

The pair had a right laugh reacting to some of the jokes, compliments and insults from members of the public.

And of course, they couldn't resist the opportunity to reply with a few pretty witty retorts of their own.

Pimblett in particular seemed to get the brunt of the insults - but to his credit he took the challenge in his stride.

One rude Tweeter said he "looks like one of the vultures off The Jungle Book".

And another added: "That has to be the worst haircut in history."

"That's a proper bad shout that lad," Pimblett replied.

He also shrugged off comparisons to a certain Conor McGregor and the suggestion that he would get knocked out by Francis Ngannou as well.

McCann meanwhile seemed to get off rather lightly as she only had to reply to a couple of insults.

But she didn't take too kindly to a tweet which read: "Fight someone with a good record and no more cans."
