A recent video of the catastrophic punching power of a six-year-old Gervonta Davis which has being doing the rounds on social media has left boxing fans stunned. In case you didn’t know, Davis is known for his monumental punching power, with his knockout-to-win percentage currently standing at 93%. That is a staggering 25 knockouts out of a total 27 fights, which really does show just how powerful that left hand of the WBA (Regular) lightweight champion really is. Many years ago and before he made his professional debut and won against Desi Williams in February 2013, he was honing his craft as any young boxer destined for greatness would in his local gym. In the video that resurfaced online recently, we can see that Tank’s power was always there from an early age. Standing across from his sparring partner wearing a blue Dallas Mavericks basketball jersey with point guard Jason Kidd’s name and number, the young white-shirted Davis saw an opening and was coiled and ready to strike. Just as it appears the young man in all blue was revving up a shot with his guard dropped, six-year-old Tank delivers a deadly left-hook to the jaw, rocking his opponent and sending him backwards.

As they say when teaching boxing at an early age, never let your guard down and keep your hands up as close to your face to protect it at all costs or you will get hit!

What’s even more impressive is the speed and precision at which the younger version of Davis hits the shot with, possibly indicating that he had potential to be one of the best from this clip.

In May 2022, Tank retained the WBA (Regular) lightweight championship, defeating Rolando Romero by TKO in the 6th round.

He looks to be on a collision course with Ryan Garcia, who called out Davis after he knocked out Javier Fortuna.
