Endrick, the teenager dubbed 'the next Neymar', turned 16 on Thursday - and two of the Premier League's top clubs are already reportedly intent on securing his services.

The highly-rated Brazilian, who is said to have scored a staggering 170 goals in 172 career outings, is set to sign a professional deal with Palmeiras - the club he has been with since the age of 11.

Unfortunately for Palmeiras fans, they probably won't have long to enjoy his outrageous talents.

Endrick is tipped for a bright future in European football - something that is not lost on media in the South American country.

Journalists are expected to be out in force to capture the moment Endrick inks his Palmeiras contract. For most 15-year-olds, the attention might be a little overwhelming. For a youngster that has appeared on the front page of Spanish newspaper Marca on three occasions already in his career, the spotlight is nothing new.

Asked how he deals with the pressure of being compared to a superstar like Neymar, Endrick recently explained to the Daily Mail: "How do I cope with the hype? I try to remember that I’m very young.

"I try to remember I’m still a child and that it’s only a game. I don’t want to take it overly seriously.

"Yes, I want to be serious about my career but during the game, I want to have as much fun as possible."

Endrick was the star of the show at this year's ‘Copinha' - Brazil's most prestigious youth competition - where he bagged Player of the Tournament honours, despite being only 15 in an Under 21s event.

He also went viral after scoring an outrageous bicycle kick during the tournament that many consider to be a contender for the prestigious Puskas Award.

Seriously, this lad's already got a highlight reel most players can only dream of. It's little wonder that calls are already growing in some quarters for him to be included in Tite's World Cup squad later this year.

That may be a bridge slightly too far right now for Endrick, but the young star does admit that his days of competing at youth level are done.

"I think the Copinha was the moment I realised I’m doing things more advanced than is expected,’ he revealed to the Mail.

"Even though I’m used to playing with older kids, I’m not a protagonist to believe I’m special.

"But because of this tournament, I saw that no other player had done this before at my age. That’s when it came together in my mind."

Which Premier League clubs are interested in Endrick?

Endrick himself may only have just fully realised his potential, but Europe's biggest teams have been aware of it for quite some time.

According to a report from The Sun earlier this week, both Manchester United and Chelsea are preparing to submit bids once Endrick is officially a Palmeiras player.

It is widely believed that his contract will initially include a £34 million release clause, rising to £43m next year and to £50m in 2024.

Understandably, both interested Premier League parties are keen to get a deal in place as quickly as possible, but not just to save cash.

The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also reportedly keeping tabs on Endrick, who shares the same agent as Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr.

Whether that connection gives Los Blancos the edge in the chase for the player remains to be seen.

What does seem inevitable, though, is that Endrick will be plying his trade in Europe once he turns 18 in two years' time.

Whichever club lands his signature look to have an incredible talent on their hands.
