GiveMeSport transfer expert Dean Jones provides another big update…

A big development has emerged as Newcastle United are continuing to track Jack Harrison at Leeds United, despite the Yorkshire club showing no signs of selling him.

Leeds were always open to the fact Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips could go at the right price but that has never been the case with Harrison and they had not anticipated such a strong push from another club to sign him.

Newcastle feel Harrison, who reportedly has a price tag of €42m (£36m) could bring a desire and industrious nature on top of the natural ability that can open up goalscoring opportunities.

In a post-match interview after a pre-season game against Aston Villa he gave indication that his future was up in the air as he said he would “see what happens” in terms of staying.

Mateusz Bogusz - Leeds

Do you know this obscure player Leeds signed in the January transfer window?

He has two years remaining on his contract and there is no temptation to cash in on the player at this stage. Newcastle value him to be in the £20million region and that is not enough to change the stance at Leeds.
