Liverpool will consider "cashing in" on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The £120,000 per-week ace is out of favour at Anfield and has entered the final 12 months of his contract on Merseyside, which could see him end his five-year stay at the club.

What's the latest news involving Oxlade-Chamberlain?

According to The Times, the Reds would be open to allowing the England international to leave this summer following his lack of chances in recent years.

Despite his injury problems, Oxlade-Chamberlain has played more than 100 matches for Liverpool and has won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

However, the midfielder has slipped down the pecking order over the last couple of seasons, playing just 1100 minutes in the Premier League, while he has only started 28 top-flight games since suffering an ACL injury against Roma in April 2019.

As a result, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with an Anfield exit, with Jurgen Klopp well stocked in the midfield and O'Rourke reckons that Liverpool would be prepared to sell him for the right price.

What did O'Rourke say about Oxlade-Chamberlain?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "If the right offer was made for him, I think Liverpool will consider cashing in on Oxlade-Chamberlain, but it does seem like his injury problems might prevent clubs from making moves for him."

Who has been linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Despite hardly getting a look in over the last few years, the 28-year-old has still racked up more than 200 Premier League appearances and has been capped 35 times for England.

Therefore, the ex-Arsenal star is still attracting attention from top-flight sides, with West Ham keen on signing him after potentially missing out on a deal for Jesse Lingard, while Tomas Soucek's future is up in the air, and Mark Noble has retired.

According to the Irish Mirror, the Hammers are keen on Oxlade-Chamberlain and are lining up a £10m bid for the Southampton graduate.

Meanwhile, the Mirror believe that Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also in the running, with Steven Gerrard, Oxlade-Chamberlain's former England teammate, an admirer of the midfielder.
