Darren Till says he won’t be making an official appearance at UFC London, as he turned down Chris Curtis’ invitation to be in his corner for Saturday’s main card fight against Jack Hermansson.

The Liverpool MMA fighter, 29, was forced to pull out of his middleweight bout with The Joker after aggravating a pre-existing knee injury during his training camp.

Till’s heavyweight training partner Tom Aspinall, 29, tops the card in the capital against fellow top contender Curtis Blaydes, 31.

However, Curtis, who has stepped in as a short-notice replacement to face Hermansson, said ‘it would be funny as hell‘ if Till was in his corner.

Despite the offer, Till says he doesn’t fancy taking him up on his proposal, out of respect for both fighters.

In actual fact, it seems like he won’t be there at all if some reports are to be believed.

Till wrote on Twitter: “I won’t be cornering Chris this weekend at UFC London, I feel it would be disrespectful to the whole situation after pulling out of the fight to then turn up to the corner of the fight.

“I wish Chris the best of luck, he’s a proper guy and we trained together and he can do good things, I also wish Jack the best of luck may both men have a good fight.

“I also look forward to hearing what all the couch potato’s [sic] have to comment below this post I’ll be reading and laughing.

“To the people that messaged me saying keep my head up etc it’s massively appreciated but the only problem right now is that my body is brittle through years of hard torment day in day out to the body.

“I need to take a more controlled relaxed approach in the next 10 years.

“Good luck to all fighting at UFC London, I would be lying if I didn’t say I’m sat here absolutely jealous to f**k.

“The hype around UFC London is real! Blockasset in the house, wait till [sic] you see Blockasset’s name on the canvas of UFC next year, then you’ll know s**t is real.

“I hope everyone has a good weekend, gets smashed and has a sick time.”
