It was a fantastic spectacle in Vegas despite being only a friendly.

With Barca having heavily strengthened their squad over the summer, they're now in position to challenge their rivals for the league title.

And there was certainly an edge to the fixture, with it coming to a boiling point during the first half.

Vinicius Junior went on a quite brilliant run as Barca players attempted to bring him down. When he was eventually brought down by Jordi Alba, it resulted in a huge clash between the two sets of players.

It was Real Madrid's first friendly of the 2022/23 campaign - their first match since winning the Champions League.

They face Club America and Juventus while they're in the USA.

They then face Eintracht Frankfurt in the European Super Cup on August 10 before they kick off their La Liga campaign away to Almeria.

Barcelona had already played twice. They drew 1-1 with Olot on July 13 before they made their way to the United States for their pre-season tour. On Tuesday, they beat Inter Miami 6-0 with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Gavi, Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembele on the scoresheet.

Barca will play Juventus and New York Red Bulls before they face Pumas in the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 7. They then begin their La Liga campaign at home to Rayo Vallecano on August 13.

It's been a pretty crazy summer for Barcelona.

They've signed Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie on free transfers, while Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have also arrived in big deals.

It doesn't look as though they're done yet, though, with them set to beat Chelsea to the signing of defender Jules Kounde.
