There’s a chance it’ll never feel normal watching Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos playing and training together at Paris Saint-Germain.

They were fierce rivals for so many years during their spells at Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively.

Messi must have more than a few battle scars on his body from his El Clasico battles with Ramos, who was never afraid to turn to the dark arts in an attempt to thwart the legendary Argentine forward.

On the flip side, Messi embarrassed Ramos on more than a handful of occasions with his extraordinary ability. No matter how hard the Spaniard hit him, Messi would dust himself down and go again moments later.

Messi skins Ramos before scoring in PSG training

During an open PSG training session on Sunday, ahead of Monday’s pre-season fixture against Gamba Osaka, Messi and Ramos rewound the clock to their Clasico days at one point.

Messi skinned the centre-back with a beautiful touch before lashing the ball into the bottom corner with his right foot.

But the South American initially stumbled after going past Ramos, who caught him with his outstretched boot.

Was Messi angry with Ramos in PSG training?

After scoring, Messi walked back and was seen having words with Ramos.

Didn’t look best pleased, did he?

Here’s another angle of Messi ghosting past Ramos before scoring:

Did Ramos mean to clip his superstar teammate?

It appeared to be unintentional, although as some people on social media have pointed out… old habits die hard:

When does PSG's 2022-23 season start?

Messi and Ramos will be playing under a new manager in their second seasons at the Parc des Princes after Christophe Galtier replaced Mauricio Pochettino as PSG’s head coach earlier this month.

Galtier, the 55-year-old former Nice boss, has led PSG to victories over Quevilly Rouen, Kawasaki Frontale and Urawa Reds in his first three pre-season fixtures in charge.

After their game against Gamba Osaka on Monday, PSG take on Nantes in the Trophée des Champions on Sunday before their Ligue 1 campaign gets underway against Clermont on August 6.
