Gamba Osaka couldn't live with Paris Saint-Germain in the first half of their pre-season friendly on Monday.

In the final game of their Japanese tour, the French outfit raced into a 4-1 lead by the half-time interval.

PSG opened the scoring in the 28th minute of play through Pablo Sarabia and Neymar then made it 2-0 from the penalty just four minutes later.

However, the way in which the spot kick came about was pretty suspect, especially given the fact it's a pre-season friendly.

Neymar was the man who was 'fouled' in the box, although the replays appear to suggest there wasn't any contact whatsoever.

The sliding Gamba Osaka defender looked to have pulled his foot away at the last second, but that didn't stop Neymar from throwing himself to the ground in a very dramatic manner.

Even if there was the slightest bit of contact, it was certainly nowhere near enough to make the world's most expensive footballer writhe around in agony...

Why does he have to do it? Neymar has a reputation for being theatrical after his antics at the 2018 World Cup with Brazil and sadly, he continues to live up to it.

What makes it even more frustrating is the fact the 30-year-old is one of the most talented footballers of his generation.

Neymar even highlighted exactly that against Gamba Osaka. The former Barcelona forward nearly produced a wonderful assist when the scores were level at 0-0 after a mazy, skill-filled run into the penalty area.

He then eventually bagged an assist for Lionel Messi's goal which put PSG 4-1 ahead and the cross from Neymar was inch-perfect.

The Messi and Neymar partnership in full effect right there and they were up their usual tricks in the second half too.

In the 60th minute, Neymar grabbed his second goal of the game to make it 5-1 to PSG, the Brazilian superstar latching onto an exquisite through ball from Messi and then firing the ball into the back of the net after rounding the goalkeeper.
