Barcelona have made moves in the summer transfer market.

It's well known that the Catalan giants are in all sorts of financial trouble.

But, despite these difficulties, they've managed to sign Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen in the past month.

They could yet complete the purchase of Jules Kounde from Sevilla in a deal that could be more than £50m.

Barca have made all these signings despite owing millions of pounds to some of their players in deferred wages.

Frenkie de Jong is one player that agreed to defer his wages to help the club. The Guardian, as well as numerous other sources, claim he is owed £17m.

It is believed the issue of his deferred wages is holding up a potential move to Manchester United.

However, despite this being an issue for some time, the two parties have not yet come to an agreement.

AS have now reported that De Jong has been told he has to agree to almost half his current salary if he wishes to remain at Barca.

With the De Jong to United saga still ongoing, Gary Neville has launched a sensational rant on Twitter where he has urged the Dutch midfielder to consider legal action against Barcelona.

Neville thinks it is unfair that he is not being paid the money he is owed while the club splashes out millions on new players.

He wrote: "De Jong should consider legal action v Barcelona and all players should be behind him! A club spending fortunes on new players whilst not paying the ones they have under contract their full money is immoral and a breach. @FIFPRO should be all over bullying like this and stop it."

Whether De Jong follows Neville's advice remains to be seen.

Should Barca complete the signing of Kounde, that will take their summer spending to almost £150m, per Transfermarkt.

They have recouped just £20.7m in player sales, with Philippe Coutinho's move to Aston Villa making up a large chunk of that fee.
