Football Manager 2022 remains the go-to game for any budding virtual managers out there.

FM23 is likely to release later this year, although it has not yet been formally announced.

The franchise follows an annual release schedule and the latest instalment is likely to come out in November, as the last two have.

However, that is a long time to wait for anyone who wants to dive into a new save that coincides with the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Fans of Nottingham Forest, Fulham, and AFC Bournemouth will certainly want to get in on the action soon enough, while fans of the big clubs will want to see their new transfers reflected in the game.

Tottenham Hotspur, for example, have signed no fewer than six new players, including Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, and Djed Spence. Manchester City now have Erling Haaland on their books, while Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez.

How exactly do you get these transfers in the game though?

Now, the first thing to say here is that there are two ways of doing this and it essentially boils down to the easy way or the hard way.

If you really want to, you could make the edits yourself.

That would involve jumping into the FM22 pre-game editor, which comes bundled with every purchase of FM22 on Steam. Simply navigate to the Tools section of Steam, download the editor, jump in, and start moving players to new teams.

It’s really easy; you can simply change the player’s club. This doesn’t involve changing their age, however, or altering their ability.

But it will be incredibly time-consuming when one considers that hundreds of transfers are completed every window.

So here’s the easy way.

  • Go to Steam.
  • Navigate to FM22.
  • Click the ‘Community’ button.
  • This will take you to a page where fan-created edits can be downloaded.
  • Find a database edit – the FMI Update has already made over 50,000 changes to the database, including a number of new transfers, loans, manager changes, and contract renewals.
  • Subscribe to it.
  • It will then be accessible as ‘editor data’ when you start a new save.

It should be said, also, that these changes will not affect any games that are being played; a new save will need to be started for the changes to be implemented.
