Wolverhampton Wanderers will add another striker to their squad before the summer transfer window slams shut, according to Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor

Bruno Lage is currently preparing his side for the 2022-23 Premier League campaign that kicks off in just under two weeks’ time but new signings could be made before that clash with Leeds United.

What is the latest transfer news from Wolves?

It has been a lowkey summer at Molineux so far with just one new face arriving in the form of Nathan Collins. The centre-back made the switch from Burnley for just over £20 million after the Clarets were relegated.

Elsewhere, Hee-Chan Hwang has made his loan move permanent after Wolves paid RB Leipzig the £15 million needed to complete the deal.

It appears that reinforcements in attack are next on the agenda for Lage with 21-year-old Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos a target according to reports in Portugal.

However, they potentially face tough competition to land him after Paris Saint-Germain entered the race, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Taylor understands that Wolves will likely add another striker to their squad to provide some support to Raul Jimenez and that Ramos is under consideration at Molineux.

Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: “I do think Wolves will add another striker to their squad because they need that depth. I think the lad from Benfica, Ramos, he's one that will also be considered but I don't know how much he would cost.”

Why are Wolves looking to sign Ramos?

Fabio Silva has joined Anderlecht on loan this summer after the youngster penned a new contract in the West Midlands, leaving a space to fill among Lage’s attacking options.

While Jimenez’s class is well known, the Mexican will be the club’s sole option through the middle, with Hwang deployed predominantly on the wing in the past.

It is easy to see why Ramos has caught the eyes of those at Wolves too. Last term saw him score seven goals in 29 league games with only sporadic starting spots to his name.

If they can land him at the right price, Ramos could prove an incredibly fruitful investment for Wolves moving forward. Reports in Portugal have previously suggested he will cost £34 million and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League club are willing to splash the cash.
