The cost of a season ticket in English football is a regular gripe among match-going fans, and understandably so.

Watching Premier League football live and in the flesh comes at a significant cost as is, so to secure a card to watch your favourite team at home all season long is a completely different beast.

Fans are desperate for change in England, and regularly look towards the Bundesliga as inspiration for that change, in a number of different areas.

Cheaper food and drink, the ability to drink away from the concourse, more passionate fan atmospheres, safe standing - you name it. The German game is admittedly miles ahead of the English game in terms of creating the best all round experience.

In fact, there are very few who can match the Germans in making football matches rabidly entertaining. They just do it right. But away from the usual cries of Premier League fans wanting 50+1 models and cheaper beer prices, there is a very genuine reason to be envious of the gate prices in the Bundesliga.

A chart displaying the cheapest season ticket price at Bundesliga clubs has done the rounds on Reddit, and the costs are nothing short of incredible.

The graphic includes all 18 clubs and is rather staggering when you think about the cost of Premier League season tickets. Take a look for yourself below.

Where do we even start? Bayern Munich, one of the biggest clubs in world football, have the third lowest price out of anyone else in the league for their cheapest season ticket at just under €150. Amazing.

A season card for Borussia Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park is actually the most expensive on the list, coming in at €240. VfL Bochum follow closely behind them; surprising considering they only returned to the Bundesliga in the 2021/22 season.

As expected, fans have reacted in all sorts of ways to this information, and it makes for equally as intriguing reading. Let's check out what people had to say.

A good point is raised in that while these ticket prices are incredible, it makes getting one even more difficult due to the ridiculously high demand to clinch one.

We cannot begin to imagine what the waiting lists look like for those affordable options. However, if you can get a hold of one, then it's extraordinary value for money.

Waiting lists for season tickets will always be a nightmare, in truth. So if you can show some extreme patience and somehow hold out for a Bundesliga one, then it's more than worthwhile.
