Football Manager 2023 is set to come out later this year.

The football management simulation has been one of the most popular PC games of the past 20 years, and has followed an annual release schedule for years.

As a result, we expect to see FM23 released later this year.

We’ve subsequently taken a close look at five of the most unique challenges players can try in the new game.

We’ve already gone through the hardest challenges, but this is more about unique, one-off saves, that can be done at pretty much any club.

Can’t win anything with kids

Only sign players under the age of 23, rely heavily on your youth academy, and try to win your top domestic league, while being competitive in the Champions League.

It’s not an easy thing to do but, eventually, you’ll have enough wonderkids on your books to be able to dominate, if this goes to plan!

Delegation goes a long way

When you take over at a club, tweak the responsibilities of the Director of Football so they are in charge of, well, absolutely everything in the transfer window.

That means they will be signing new players, selling players from your squad, and negotiating new contracts. You’ve got no say in who comes and who goes.

Can you keep winning despite that?

This one is very interesting.

Take over at a club and ensure that your squad is filled with players from just one country. If you’re managing in England, every player needs to be English, and so on.

It means selling every single foreign player on the books; can you make this work?

Moneyball

This challenge has taken on greater prevalence in recent years, with multiple top clubs adopting this strategy, including both Liverpool and Brentford.

The main point here is to sign players for the first-team, with a maximum age of 27. When an offer comes in for a player that meets their valuation, you must sell them, and then try to replace them with a cheaper player.

You can only scout using data, too. Not easy, but unique.

MLS retirement home

Major League Soccer gained something of a reputation throughout its lifespan for becoming a retirement home, with players over 30 continually heading to the United States.

However, in this challenge, you’ll be taking it worldwide. With whichever club you start, make sure you’re only signing players who are 30 and older.

If there’s anybody in your squad who is under 30, you need to sell them as soon as possible. Good luck with this one.
