Arsenal: £30m star has 'agreed personal terms' and 'wants Emirates move'

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta applauds his players

Arsenal have still not made a bid for Youri Tielemans despite agreeing personal terms with the Leicester City midfielder ahead of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

Tielemans has entered the final 12 months of his £120,000-per-week contract at the King Power Stadium, meaning there is uncertainty over his long-term future, and he is firmly on the Gunners’ radar.

What’s the latest news involving Tielemans?

Arsenal are understood to be confident of completing the £30million signing of Tielemans despite facing stiff competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle United.

However, Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has revealed the central midfielder’s current employers have not received any offers with little more than a month to go before the transfer window slams shut.

That has reportedly had an impact on the Foxes’ own summer plans as they are unable to welcome fresh faces to the club until some of their biggest earners are moved on.

Despite the lack of movement, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Arsenal have been holding internal discussions over Tielemans since January.

Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has previously told GIVEMESPORT that the Gunners’ north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur could pounce as they are long-term admirers of the 25-year-old.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Tielemans?

Jacobs understands that Arsenal have yet to head to the negotiating table in order to agree a fee with Leicester.

However, the journalist is aware that Tielemans is keen to complete a switch to the Emirates Stadium and already knows his personal demands will be met.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “As Leicester have said and as I’ve said repeatedly, Arsenal have never made an offer for Youri Tielemans.

“What they have done is gone to the player and agreed personal terms, broadly speaking.

“What they do know is that Tielemans would like to move to Arsenal.”

Have Arsenal already bolstered their midfield this summer?

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has not been afraid to splash the cash since the transfer window reopened and among those to head to the Emirates Stadium has been Fabio Vieira after a £34million deal was struck with Porto.

Although £32million arrival Oleksandr Zinchenko was primarily a left-back during his Manchester City career, he could comfortably slot into the heart of the Gunners’ midfield.

That is because he has taken up that position in the vast majority of his 52 appearances for the Ukraine national team.

Capturing Vieira and Zinchenko has resulted in Arteta being able to hold back on rushing through a deal for 52-cap Belgium international Tielemans.
