Valtteri Bottas says he and Alfa Romeo are eager to bounce back and head into the summer break in some better form after some tough races.

The Finnish driver has, overall, had a good season with the team that he joined at the start of the year but recent races have seen the points majorly dry up, with McLaren and Alpine stealing a march on them in the race for fourth in the Constructors' championship.

Alfa are not out of it yet, though, and Bottas has some upgrades on his car that should allow him to try and close the gap a little to those in front.

Speaking ahead of the Grand Prix weekend here in Budapest, he had this to say:

“Having back-to-back races offers us the chance to bounce back right away from the tough weekend we had in France, where nothing seemed to be working in our favour.

"I've enjoyed racing at the Hungaroring in the past, having also been on the podium here twice before, and I am looking forward to being back in action on track. The fans are always passionate and welcoming here, and it would be nice to put up a good show for them before the summer break. The team has been working really hard these past days to find a solution to our struggles last weekend, and together with some updates we can hopefully put up a good fight for points in the midfield.”

Bottas and team-mate Zhou Guanyu will be pushing hard this weekend to try and get some points on the board to try and turn the tide in the battle for fourth.

Early in the season, it looked as though Alfa were arguably the fourth-quickest car but as the season has progressed their lack of big update packages has hampered them in terms of staying there.

Bottas has some new parts to try this weekend, though, and they'll hope that helps provide a step in the right direction.
