In exactly one week, it's the opening day of the Premier Leaguef season.

We simply can't wait.

It's been more than two months since the last Premier League action on May 22. It's been a long summer with no Premier League football.

But the 2022/23 campaign is almost here and it promises to be a good one!

The arrivals of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez have added extra quality to the best league in the world. There have also been plenty of internal transfers with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison switching clubs within the league.

With seven days to go, it's the time of year we all start making our predictions on what's going to happen over the next 11 months.

Who will win the league? Who will get top four? Who will get relegated? Who will be the best players?

Of course, football is the most unpredictable sport in the world and that's why we love it.

But that doesn't stop us all having a go and guessing what's going to happen.

And that includes commentator Ian Darke.

The commentator has watched more Premier League games than all of us put together but he's had a go at predicting the top six as well as the top goalscorer and Player of the Year.

Let's check out his predictions:

Ian Darke's Premier League predictions

VIDEO: Ian Darke makes his Premier League predictions

Explaining his picks, Darke said: "We don't know yet the full squads for every team and in Manchester United's case is Ronaldo going to be there? There's nothing that original there [in my predictions] it's going to be another close race between Manchester City and Liverpool.

"Tottenham you'd think with the way they've strengthened might put in a much stronger run than what we've seen from them. They could make third place. I'm guessing United are going to be different, more dynamic. They are going to respond to Ten Hag, that's a speculative pick putting them in fourth. Chelsea? Well, they're in flux so they're a bit lower."

So, another title race between City and Liverpool with Spurs and United finishing in the top four?

Darke has also gone for Kane, who scored 17 Premier League goals last season, to be the top goalscorer.

Meanwhile, De Bruyne has been backed to be Player of the Year.

We just can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

Bring. It. On.
