Injured former WWE Champion Big E has shared the uplifting support he’s had during his lay off with a serious neck injury.

Big E suffered the terrifying injury on the 11 March edition of SmackDown earlier this year, during a tag team outing against Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

The 36-year-old would later confirm he had suffered a broken neck, but the injury wouldn’t require surgery. E has since kept fans up to date on his recovery and has some nice words to say about WWE’s support.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the New Day member says that he’s been taken care of WWE whilst rehabbing the serious injury.

Yeah, I’m still getting paid, I have no complaints with the way they have taken care of me. I’ve been paid very regularly. My money hasn’t gone down at all. They’ve also helped me, they sent me like a bone stimulator as well to help accelerate the growth of the bone. Medical has been there, they’ve done a great job. There’s been no expense either with my medical stuff. So yes, I’ve been taken care of for sure.”

There is no timeframe on the multi-time tag team champion’s injury and E recently admitted that he’d be content if it meant that he’d never be able to compete in a WWE ring again. He also stated how lucky he was to not have faced more severe consequences, like a wheelchair or even the end of his life.

In his absence his New Day pals have been battling the recently returned Viking Raiders on SmackDown, and comically mimicked their rivals during a segment E would have been proud of last week.
