Barcelona would then go on to make light work of Manchester United in the final, making it a far more bitter pill for their fans to swallow.

Goals from Samuel Eto'o and an iconic Lionel Messi header were enough to see off the Manchester side and, despite the Chelsea controversy, you can hardly argue that Barcelona were not deserving.
