It was announced last night on AEW Rampage that new ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli will defend his title very soon, despite only winning the title last weekend.

Claudio Castagnoli took to the ring to begin the celebrations after his impressive championship win over former champion Jonathan Gresham at last Saturday night's ROH Death Before Dishonor.

Claudio picked up the victory via the powerbomb and shocked the wrestling world, picking up his first-ever world championship in his professional wrestling career.

Alongside William Regal, Castagnoli made his intentions clear with the title and what is next for the Blackpool Combat Club as fellow member Wheeler Yuta retained his ROH Pure Championship at Death Before Dishonor too.

It was revealed on Twitter that Castagnoli will defend his ROH World Championship on a special Saturday Night Fight Night edition of AEW TV, where they welcome back Battle Of The Belts for the third time.

Castagnoli's opponent will be none other than one of the hottest prospects in professional wrestling Konosuke Takeshita. Takeshita has been on a roll since his introduction to AEW, with his most memorable performance coming against AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley.

Takeshita would fall short against Moxley but gave the champion the fight of his life and came close to becoming the new champion on multiple occasions.

Castagnoli and Takeshita will most definitely showcase a strong style of wrestling, with the speed of Takeshita colliding with the technicality and power of Castagnoli. It is a match to look out for and one to most certainly be excited to witness.

You can watch AEW Battle Of The Belts III August 6th internationally on FITE TV.
