FTR was back to their old antics again on Twitter, predicting their future and getting fans excited for what’s next.
This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, AEW revealed the brand new Trios Championships to the list of championships up for grabs in the company.
It was great to see but not unexpected as Tony Khan has made it known in recent interviews and podcasts that AEW has had the trios belts for a while, it was just a matter of time and place where the titles would be introduced and how the inaugural champions will be crowned.
The inaugural AEW Trios Champions will be determined on September 4th at AEW’s next big Pay-Per-View All Out.
AEW’s calibre of trios is unmatched and has an array of talent worthy enough to capture these titles. However, it has also caught the attention of current champions in the roster who want to put more gold around their waist.
A prime example of this is the IWGP, ROH and AAA Tag Team Champions FTR, who expressed their interest in the trios titles via Twitter.
Dax Harwood tweeted the following:
FTR and the AEW World Champion CM Punk create a friendship and an allegiance on the road to Punk’s AEW World Championship win at Double Or Nothing and came to screen’s in the post-match celebrations where Punk was hoisted onto the shoulders of Dax and Cash.
Between the three of them they hold 4 World Championships and why not add a fifth and cement their legacy further by capturing the AEW Trios Championships.
However, it seems unlikely as when Punk returns it will probably be to unify the AEW and Interim AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley or whoever has the title by the time of All Out.
