Last night on AEW Rampage, saw a new unlikely partnership formed which could change the landscape of the AEW roster.

Lee Moriarty went one-on-one with his teacher and mentor, Matt Sydal. Since his loss to Jonathan Gresham on the Rampage edition of Fyter Fest for the ROH World Championship. Moriarty has sported a different attitude in the way he wrestles.

Sydal hasn't taken a liking to the new Moriarty and issued the challenge to his student.

Most of the match saw both men use their knowledge of each other effectively, scouting everything the other threw. However, it would be Moriarty to pick up the win over Sydal by making his teacher submit in the middle of the ring due to a crossface.

Moriarty was then greeted in the ring by none other than Stokely Hathaway, who similarly to last week, presented Moriarty with a business card.

Shockingly Moriarty took the business and celebrated, with Hathaway applauding, potentially symbolising a new alliance between the two.

Moriarty will look to keep collecting big wins in AEW and use the momentum to not miss the next time he gets a championship opportunity.

Hathaway also represents TBS Champion Jade Cargill and The Baddies, Leila Grey, Red Velvet and Keira Hogan. Cargill still remains undefeated in AEW and holds the TBS Championship for 188 days and counting, remaining the inaugural championship.

Cargill has also become familiar with winning matches in quick fashion therefore Moriarty may have latched on to the opportunity due to the good job Hathaway has done with Jade Cargill.
