Robert Lewandowski failed to find the back of the net for the third consecutive game in Barcelona's pre-season match against New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening.

The Pole, who signed for the club in a €50 million move from Bayern Munich this summer, has had a tough start to life at Barca.

After failing to score against Real Madrid and Juventus, he was hoping to break his duck against New York Red Bulls.

Lewandowski had plenty of opportunities to get off the mark for his new club. However, he couldn't make his chances count.

Lewandowski's best opportunity came when Ousmane Dembele put the ball on a plate for him inside the box.

However, instead of shooting first time, Lewandowski took too long and his shot was eventually blocked by an opposition defender.

The 33-year-old also saw a close range strike saved, had a header saved while he sent another header flying harmlessly over the bar.

Real Madrid fans are no doubt enjoying watching Lewandowski's woes and one of their fans, Twitter user @brt_rmfc, has now created a cruel video mocking his display against the MLS side.

Football fans really are brutal.

People seem to forget he's one of the greatest goal scorers that has ever lived.

Lewandowski hasn't had the best of starts to life at Barcelona, that must be said.

But these games are of no importance anyway and he's very early into his Barca career.

What counts is his performances when the season gets going.

Xavi spoke about Lewandowski's performance after the match against New York Red Bulls.

"Lewandowski is frustrated, but that is normal. It’s the same thing that happened to Luis Suárez when he came. He will end up scoring,” he said, per Barca Universal.

The Polish striker will hope to be on the scoresheet when Barca take on Pumas UNAM in the Joan Gamper Trophy final on Sunday August 7.

Barca then begin their La Liga campaign against Rayo Vallecano the following weekend.
