We're not quite sure the note said but social media has turned it into a meme. Many claim the note simply said: 'It's coming home!'

Russo made headlines in the semi final for her outrageous back heel finish against Sweden in a 4-0 victory.

And she had full faith in her Manchester United teammates, Toone, when she was put through on goal by Keira Walsh's brilliant pass.

“As soon as she got put through, I knew it was going in the back of the net,” she said. “That’s because she can do it on the biggest stage of all.

“This is what dreams are made of,” Russo added. “As a young girl watching women’s football and now this, it’s unbelievable. These girls are special, the manager is special, and what a special group of staff. This is amazing. All my family are in the crowd. My mum, all my brothers, my sister, all my nephews, everyone. I just want to celebrate.”

Football has come home.

The Three Lions took the lead in the final thanks to a brilliant dinked finish by Ella Toone.

However, with 10 minutes remaining of the 90 minutes Lina Magull levelled things up for Germany.

But in the 110th minute, Kelly scored her first ever international goal as she poked home from a corner.

Incredible scenes.

The Lionesses held on to ensure that football has returned to England.

They've done the country incredibly proud.
