It's official, football has finally come home. After decades of hurt, an England team finally got to lift a piece of major international silverware at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon. In front of a capacity crowd, Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses beat fierce rivals Germany 2-1 to win Euro 2022.The host nation took the lead in the second half when Manchester United's Ella Toone cooly lofted the ball over Merle Frohms from Keira Walsh's superb through ball.Germany then fired back just 10 minutes before the end of the regulation 90 through Lina Magull and in truth, an equaliser was more than deserved. However, it was England's Chloe Kelly who was then the match winner on the day, the Manchester City forward grabbing her team's all-important second goal in extra-time after coming on as a substitute. It was the scrappiest of goals after Germany failed to clear a corner, but players and fans will not care about that one bit.Chloe Kelly scores England's winner vs GermanyLONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 31: Chloe Kelly of England scores the winning goal during the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 final match between England and Germany at Wembley Stadium on July 31, 2022 in London, England.
