Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is liked by Newcastle United, says Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.

The 25-year-old continues to be linked with a move to St James' Park, though Thornton believes the price tag on his head could be a problem.

What is the latest news involving Harrison?

Ben Jacobs of CBS has been reporting on Newcastle's interest in Harrison, with the journalist recently claiming that the Magpies will need to present an offer of around £35m to make Leeds even consider selling the £60,000-a-week Englishman this summer.

The above comes as no surprise given how important Harrison has been for Leeds in the Premier League since their return to the top flight a couple of years ago.

Last season, he scored eight goals in 35 top-flight games, helping Jesse Marsch's men to beat the drop.

The campaign prior, Harrison netted the same amount but also managed eight assists, making it 16 goal contributions in 36 appearances, which is quite a good return.

What has Thornton said about Harrison and Leeds?

Thornton has told GIVEMESPORT that Harrison has been attracting interest since the January transfer window but Leeds' valuation of the player remains a problem.

Speaking to GMS, the Sky Sports reporter said: "I think every player's got his price. There is interest and there has been since the January transfer window.

"There were one or two clubs looking at him, and I know Newcastle like him, but I'm not sure that they are prepared to meet the valuation that Leeds have for Jack Harrison. So, at the moment, I think there's a bit of a gap."

Should Leeds sell Harrison this summer?

It would not be the smartest move. They have already lost key players in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, who have joined Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.

Of course, the Yorkshire club have filled the gaps left by the two by bringing in the likes of Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams.

However, the former Feyenoord and RB Leipzig stars and Leeds' other signings in general lack Premier League experience. Considering that, it does not sound like the wisest idea to let Harrison go on top of Raphinha and Phillips.

£35m would be a good fee to receive having spent just £11m on Harrison last year. But if Leeds cannot find someone who can adequately replace the ex-Manchester City player, then a sale just simply does not look worth it given what the club have already lost this summer.
