Football Manager 2023 is one of the most anticipated games of the year.

The game has not actually been announced yet but the franchise has continually followed an annual release schedule.

As a result, we expect the game to release around November time, with the beta coming two weeks beforehand.

As a result, with the Premier League season starting this week, we’ve taken a stab at predicting the very best players in the league ahead of FM23.

We’ve previously put together a prediction article on the best players in the game and now we’re focusing in on the English top-flight.

We’ve cross-checked this list with the best players in the league on FM22, and added in some of our own predictions too!

Predicting the 10 best players in the Premier League on FM23

10. Ederson – Manchester City

Something of an eccentric goalkeeper, Ederson has some wonderful attributes when it comes to his ball-playing ability, and is an absolutely elite shot-stopper.

9. Bernardo Silva – Manchester City

A silky midfielder, Silva might actually be a tad underrated, given that he plays with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish, but he’s wonderful, and is capable of unpicking any defence with a brilliant pass.

8. Heung-Min Son – Tottenham Hotspur

Son really came into his own last season and looks primed to go again under Antonio Conte. A world-class winger.

7. Alisson – Liverpool

The best goalkeeper in the league on FM22 and we can’t see that changing, given his unreal shot-stopping ability and the fact he can kick-start attacks.

6. Cristiano Ronaldo – Manchester United

It remains to be seen if Ronaldo will actually be at United by the time the window closes but for now, he’s on their books, so he has to be in the top 10, as he’s one of the greatest players of all time.

5. Virgil van Dijk – Liverpool

Liverpool’s Rolls-Royce defender, Van Dijk just keeps improving. He was fifth last year, and we’re betting he'll be fifth this year too.

4. Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

He’s signed a new contract and looks poised to try to fire Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League. One of the best attackers in England.

3. Erling Haaland – Manchester City

He may have missed a sitter in the Community Shield but don’t let that fool you, Haaland is world-class and we’re betting he’ll be a monster in FM23.

2. Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Kane has developed his game and is now one of the best all-round players in the world, let alone the Premier League. He was third for current ability in FM22 but we’re giving him a small bump because of his form towards the end of last season.

1. Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

Man City's De Bruyne

Yep. He was No.1 last year as well. De Bruyne is the best player for the best team in England. It’s that simple.
