Becky Lynch is set to be missing from WWE TV for some time after picking up a serious injury at SummerSlam on Saturday night.

Becky was involved in arguably the best match of the night at SummerSlam, losing out in a Raw Women's Championship match to long-time rival Bianca Belair.

Lynch's performance in the match has been made even more impressive as it's now emerged that the Irishwoman actually separated her shoulder during the early stages.

Fightful Select is reporting that at the beginning of the match, Lynch separated her shoulder, which is why she was pictured supporting her arm after the match.

Fightful was told that Lynch separated her shoulder early in her match with Bianca Belair and worked through pain to finish it.

The report notes that Lynch's recovery time is unknown, as at this stage, it's not even clear whether or not she's going to need to undergo surgery.

Obviously, all parties involved will be hoping that Lynch doesn't need to go under the knife to fix her injury, but Fightful explains that it's 50/50 at this stage.

Irrespective of how she heals her injury, it's clear that Becky is going to be off WWE TV for some time, but as of right now, no timetable has been placed on her return.

When we asked, we weren't given a timetable on her return, and were even told it was 50/50 on possibly needing surgery to fix it. Lynch is expected to miss some ring time, but how long isn't certain.

It's a big blow for Triple H at this early stage of his run as Head of Creative to lose one of WWE's top stars, there's no doubt about that.

However, what makes the pill even harder to swallow is that Lynch was reportedly set to be involved in some creative plans the company had, as also reported by Fightful.

The plans would likely have involved Bayley, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, who debuted as a mouth-watering new faction at SummerSlam over the weekend.

We're told it did affect creative to some degree.

With one top women's star out of the door, reports suggest that WWE could be bringing in two to replace her, with both Naomi and Sasha Banks set to return, which you can read more about by clicking here.
