Chelsea have "no intention" of signing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Last month, it emerged that Thomas Tuchel was against his club making a move for the 37-year-old, and Romano says that stance has not changed.

What is the latest news involving Ronaldo?

Sky Sports recently reported that Ronaldo, who has 102 Premier League goals to his name, still wants to leave United before the transfer window closes.

The above comes after The Times claimed at the start of July that the Portuguese forward had told the Manchester club that he is keen to depart Old Trafford.

Chelsea were mentioned as a potential destination after their co-owner Todd Boehly held talks with Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent. However, as per The Telegraph, Tuchel was not sold on the idea of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

United's failure to qualify for this season's Champions League is believed to be the main factor behind Ronaldo's desire to leave the club.

What has Romano said about Ronaldo and Chelsea?

Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that Tuchel was very clear with Boehly about Ronaldo and is now looking at other options.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer expert said: "Thomas Tuchel, from what I'm told, was very clear with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. At the moment, they have no intention to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, so Tuchel is looking for different options, for different players."

Who are Chelsea now considering?

While Chelsea have already signed Raheem Sterling this summer to improve their attack, it is clear that Tuchel is still looking to recruit in that area of the pitch.

The German wanted Raphinha before his move to Barcelona, while the Blues are currently being linked with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.

According to Media Foot, Chelsea are "very interested" in signing the Ivory Coast international and have now made him one of their priorities.

Zaha scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season and managed to record an average of 2.3 dribbles per game (via WhoScored), so he would definitely bring an attacking threat to Tuchel's side.

The former United man has also entered the final year of his contract at Palace, so he looks more than attainable.

Ultimately, while Ronaldo seems to be off the table, it appears that another forward could still arrive at Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window. Whether that forward will be Zaha remains to be seen, but it is evident that Tuchel is still not completely satisfied with his attack despite Sterling joining Chelsea.
