Football Manager 2023 is coming later this year.

The game has yet to be formally announced by developers Sports Interactive but the franchise follows an annual release schedule and we expect the game to be released in November of this year, following the pattern set by FM22 and FM21.

The beta is usually released two weeks prior, giving players an early look at the game, as well as the ability to report bugs and iron out the kinks that may be present in the latest release.

There has recently been a move within the footballing space to make more games free to play, with eFootball adopting the model ahead of the release of eFootball 2022.

Will Football Manager 2023 be free to play?

There are no indications that the game will be free.

However, there are ways to save money on the release.

Xbox Game Pass carried FM22 last year, with the game hitting the subscription service on the same day as its worldwide release on PC.

As a result, anyone with a subscription was allowed to download the game and play, although it also had a full release on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Players who downloaded the Game Pass version were not able to play the beta, however, as that privilege is exclusively reserved for players who buy the game outright before its release.

Players just needed to buy the game on Steam or Epic around two weeks prior to the game coming out and were granted immediate access to the beta.

Unfortunately for some, it doesn’t look as though FM23 will be free to play this year, but that could well change in future, depending on SI’s plans.

We’ll update you if they reveal any new updates.
