Becky Lynch separated her shoulder at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday night, and will now be out of action for some time.

At the show, Becky was beaten by Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair in what was, at least in the eyes of many, the best match on the show.

What made Lynch's showing even more impressive is the fact that, during the early portion of the match, she separated her shoulder.

The news was reported hours before Raw on Monday night, later being confirmed by Becky during her opening promo on the show.

WWE announced that Lynch is going to be out of action for "several months", with many suggesting that she may not wrestle again this year.

Images from Becky v Bianca have started to emerge online, and upon closer inspection, it's not hard to see why Lynch is facing such a long spell on the sidelines.

In the gruesome image below, which was taken during the match on Saturday night, you can clearly see Becky's shoulder is out of its socket.

Lynch revealed on Raw that she was in a lot of pain during the match, and looking at the image below, it's really not hard to see why.

Creative plans had to change when it was clear that Becky would be off WWE TV for some time, given she was going to be involved in what will likely be WWE's top women's program this month.

Becky would have teamed with Bianca to take on Bayley's new faction, but those plans had to change.

Instead, Belair will team with Alexa Bliss and Asuka to take on Bayley, IYO SKY (formerly Io Shirai) and Dakota Kai.

As for Becky's return, WWE really has placed no timetable on things, other than the fact she's going to be out for a prolonged period of time.

If she isn't going to be wrestling again in 2022, some fans have speculated that a Royal Rumble return in January 2023 could be on the cards.

Becky's next high-profile feud was rumoured to be against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, but given she now has unresolved issues with Bayley, those plans could quite easily change.
